The Kasten Tornado is a computer-controlled, fast, energy-efficient and quiet lift-type storage and handling system that maximizes storage space utilization with minimal floor space requirements.

The system operates on a "product to user" principle, reducing the need for operator movement and waiting times, as well as shortening picking times and minimising errors. The Tornado storage machine provides a highly efficient and energy-efficient storage solution, which also ensures a high level of safety.

Technical specifications

1. Goods tray

Tornado platforms are available in fixed position (FTP) and height optimised (HOT). The height optimised model maximises the use of space, while the large platforms speed up picking by up to 20%.

2. Strap

Vertical movement is achieved by two toothed belts that ensure stability and accuracy.

3. Altimeter

The height gauge optimises space utilisation and the safety light curtain increases safety.

4. Servo motor

The horizontal movement is precisely controlled by a servo motor.

5. Shaft sensor

A shaft sensor monitors safe operation and prevents errors.

6. Motor

The motor includes positioning feedback for improved accuracy.

7. Upholstery

The machine is neatly upholstered and customizable with different colors and logos. The panels are lightweight and easy to remove for maintenance.

Industrial PC control provides a Windows-based interface, remote support and versatile connectivity options.

Tornado's lift system is servo-driven and uses chain drive and belts for vertical movement, enabling heavy loads (up to 9000 kg).
